WELCOME TO CENTRAL NEW YORK FIREBIRD!

You have entered the virtual world of Pontiac Firebird enthusiasts from all around Central New York!

CNY Firebird is an outgrowth of the love affair many CNY drivers have with Pontiac Firebird of all years (1967-2002) and at all trim levels. Back on June 8, 2002 and for the first time ever, some 95 gorgeous Firebirds and their owners cruised-in to Hofmann’s Hot Haus at Northern Lights Plaza in North Syracuse/Mattydale to show their cars, to talk ‘Bird talk, and to celebrate the 35-year production run of the Pontiac Firebird.

Not long after, the organizers of the June 8th event decided to establish CNY Firebird. CNYF is not a car club in the traditional sense--there are no dues, by-laws, regular monthly meetings, officers or the like. Rather, the Network is a virtual club--an electronic meeting place and information channel for CNY Firebird aficionados.

CNYF maintains this website and a database of Firebird owners who wish to stay linked with CNY Firebird news and events. Together, the website and e-mail is used to provide CNYF contacts with regular news, updates, and articles of interest. CNYF organizes the CNY Firebird Cruise-In in the Syracuse area annually in June. To get a feel for the Firebird “fun-time” experienced at the June 2002 Cruise-In, just click on the Gallery link on this website.

In addition to the annual cruise-in, CNYF plans to host a second event for Firebirders, beginning in August 2003. The Network will annually decide what, where and when this late summer event will be, but ideas include a track and dyno day and/or a cruise-in on the outer reaches of the CNY area.

Beyond these activities above, CNYF seeks other ways to promote and maintain the enjoyment and heritage of the Pontiac Firebird. It is open to your ideas!
